The Badger 5, a 1/2 HP Continuous Feed disposer, is part of InSinkErator's Badger line. This disposer must be grounded to reduce the risk of electric shock in the event of a malfunction or breakdown. Grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric current. If the disposer did not include a factory-installed power cord, a cord with an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug should be used (InSinkErator power cord accessory CRD-00 recommended). The plug must be plugged into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
The PF WaterWorks PF0989 Garbage Disposal Installation Kit, White, includes all the necessary components to install a garbage disposal. The kit contains a 1-1/2 inch OD x 6 inch flanged tailpiece, a 1-1/2 inch OD x 14 inch flanged tailpiece, a 1-1/2 inch OD x 7 inch slip joint drain arm, a slip joint end outlet tee, a 90-degree elbow, a rubber connection boot with a barbed adapter and clamps, a 1-1/2 inch OD wall drain trap, five 1-1/2 inch I.D. polyethylene washers, and a reducing washer.
The Badger 5 disposal features a Dura-Drive induction motor, galvanized steel components, and fits existing InSinkErator mounting hardware for easy installation. The PF WaterWorks installation kit allows for a quick DIY install from the wall water supply and drain, providing a reliable, functional, and affordable garbage grinding solution with a compact, space-saving design.
